What we don't.

This page describes what the public Mate marketing site (this domain) collects when you visit. It does not describe the product — that has its own data handling, covered in the DPA & product privacy notice.

Legal bases

We process personal data only where we have a lawful basis:

• Contract — processing your email address to send you the beta sign-up link you requested.
• Legitimate interest — server-side access logs for security and infrastructure operations. Logs are retained for 30 days then deleted.
• Consent — if we add analytics or marketing communications in future, we will obtain explicit consent first and update this policy before enabling them.

Cookies

None. The marketing site sets no cookies. No third-party scripts run here. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Analytics

We currently run no analytics on this site. No tracking scripts load, no beacons fire, no third-party code runs here.

If we add analytics in the future, it will be self-hosted, cookieless (Umami- or Plausible-class), EU-hosted — and this policy will be updated before the snippet lands.

Forms

If you give us an email address on the 'Notify me at launch' form, we store it to send you one message: the URL where you can sign up when a beta slot opens. After that we delete it unless you tell us to keep you on the list for product updates. We never sell it, share it, or use it for 'remarketing'.

Data retention

Waitlist emails: held until you receive the sign-up invite or ask us to delete them, then removed. Server access logs: 30 days rolling, then deleted automatically. No other personal data is collected through this site.

International transfers

This site is hosted on Hetzner Online GmbH infrastructure in Germany (EU). No personal data collected through the marketing site is transferred outside the EEA. In on-prem mode, the product runs on your hardware and we see none of it. In hosted mode, job containers run in EU regions on Hetzner. The only potential transfer outside the EEA is from your job container to your own chosen LLM endpoint — that transfer is entirely under your control and covered by your agreement with that provider, not ours.

Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to: access the data we hold about you; rectify inaccurate data; request erasure; request a portable export; object to processing based on legitimate interest; withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. Email privacy@mate.engineer to exercise any of these rights.

For the marketing site the answer will almost always be: we hold nothing tied to you personally — no analytics run here; the only personal data we hold is your email address if you submitted the waitlist form.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Czech supervisory authority: Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů (ÚOOÚ).

Hosting

This site is hosted on infrastructure inside the EU. No data crosses the Atlantic for the marketing site. The product, in hosted mode, also runs in EU regions; in on-prem mode it runs on your hardware and we see none of it.
